VII · Travel
Do I need a visa for South Africa?
Many passports (UK, US, EU, Canada, Australia, Kenya) get a 90-day visa-free entry. Nigerian passport holders need to apply in advance — we’ll send guidance after you RSVP.
How do I get to Cavalli on the wedding day?
You don’t need to worry — coaches will run from the recommended partner hotels (Lord Charles and Asara) to Cavalli before the ceremony and back again at the end of the night. Times will be shared closer to the date.
Children?
We love yours, but the wedding day itself is adults-only.
Currency, cards, and tipping?
South African Rand (ZAR). Cards work almost everywhere. Roughly ZAR 18 per USD at time of writing. Tipping is 10–15% in restaurants and for drivers.
SIM cards and data?
Vodacom, MTN, and Cell C sell tourist SIMs at the airport. If your phone supports eSIM, Airalo is the fastest option on arrival — set it up before you fly.
What about Cape Town safety and getting around?
Cape Town is safe in tourist areas during the day; use Uber or Bolt at night rather than walking. Stick to the Atlantic Seaboard, City Bowl, and Waterfront and you’ll be in good company.
Things to do before or after the wedding?
Table Mountain, Boulders Beach (penguins), Cape Point, the Bo-Kaap, Constantia wine route, Kirstenbosch Gardens. We’ll send a fuller guide closer to the date.
